It does not matter our religious background, our race, our country or how many times we have messed things up in our lives. God is rich in mercy to all that call on Him in truth. Many of us have done this already and have a relationship with Jesus.
Romans 10:8-13 (MSG)
8-10 So what exactly was Moses saying?
The word that saves is right here,
as near as the tongue in your mouth,
as close as the heart in your chest.
It’s the word of faith that welcomes God to go to work and set things right for us. This is the core of our preaching. Say the welcoming word to God—“Jesus is my Master”—embracing, body and soul, God’s work of doing in us what he did in raising Jesus from the dead. That’s it. You’re not “doing” anything; you’re simply calling out to God, trusting him to do it for you. That’s salvation. With your whole being you embrace God setting things right, and then you say it, right out loud: “God has set everything right between him and me!”
11-13 Scripture reassures us, “No one who trusts God like this—heart and soul—will ever regret it.” It’s exactly the same no matter what a person’s religious background may be: the same God for all of us, acting the same incredibly generous way to everyone who calls out for help. “Everyone who calls, ‘Help, God!’ gets help.”
God sent His Son Jesus to reclaim His creation and be reunited with His sons and daughters. If we were perfect we would not have need for a savior but we all know we are not perfect. If we think we are, well, there’s the proof we are not.
God is saying in these scriptures that we have everything here, right now, to be reunited with God. He is saying regardless of where you are coming from, religiously, financially, socially, mentally or any other “lly” that Jesus died for all.
We must believe God sent His Son Jesus and that Jesus died for our sins, crucified on the cross. That He rose from the dead on the third day and now sits at the right hand of God! That He alone is The Way, The Truth and The Life and that no one can come to The Father except through Jesus. By believing this we are guaranteed to spend eternity with Christ in heaven.
This is a step of faith and may not make sense in the natural but it is The Truth nevertheless.
If anyone has not called out to God for help and salvation I encourage all to do so today. Just say this aloud and believe it in your heart “Jesus I call on you to be my Lord and trust and rely on you. I believe you were raised from the dead and thank you for forgiving me of all my wrongs as I forgive all those who have wronged me”.
Anyone who prayed that simple prayer in sincerity is now forgiven and a new person in Christ. The old you and your past sins are gone and you have a fresh start. You are now, what Christians refer to as, saved. Welcome to the family of God!
