The battles we face are real and the enemy we face sometimes feels invincible. We look at the natural circumstance and think to ourselves, how we will make it through this situation.
2 Chronicles 32:6-8 (MSG)
6-8 Hezekiah rallied the people, saying, “Be strong! Take courage! Don’t be intimidated by the king of Assyria and his troops—there are more on our side than on their side. He only has a bunch of mere men; we have our God to help us and fight for us!” Morale surged. Hezekiah’s words put steel in their spines.
King Hezekiah was in such a situation himself. The King of Assyria had set up camp outside of Jerusalem and was preparing to take the city. This was a massive army that had conquered all it came against. King Hezekiah was outnumbered and in the natural was facing impossible odds.
However The King rallied the people, stepped up in faith and said “Be strong! Take courage! Don’t be it imitated by the King of Assyria and his troops- there are more on our side than on their side. He only has a bunch a mere men; we have our God to help us and fight for us!”
When we face battles, that in the natural seem impossible to overcome, we must keep these words of King Hezekiah in our hearts and speak them with our mouths. We must remember that God and all of heaven are on our side! There are more on our side than all the armies of the world.
There are many battles we will face while on this earth. They may not be a marching physical army but an enemy nevertheless. This enemy, the enemy of our soul, the devil, will come against us and try to intimidate us. This enemy will try to tell us that we will not make it. He will tell us that we will not beat this disease, this joblessness, this nagging mental anguish, this obstacle or this failure, but that is a lie.
We have The God of Heaven, Jesus, The Holy Spirit, and the host of heaven on our side. The Bible says in Romans 8:37 that we are more than conquers through Christ Jesus. We need to be strong, take courage and not be intimidated by this enemy of our soul. The Bible also tells us in 1 John 4:4 that greater is He, Jesus, that is in us than he that is in the world! In Isaiah 54:17 we are told that no weapon has ever been forged that can harm us! So let’s take courage today! We must be strong, we will see our victory come to pass!
