Even though He knows us.

God is not looking for perfect people. He is looking for open hearts and minds. He longs to be reunited with his creation and is constantly searching for those who are willing to connect.

1 Chronicles 17:16-20 MSG

16-20 King David went in, took his place before God, and prayed:Who am I, my Master God, and what is my family, that you have brought me to this place in life? But that’s nothing compared to what’s coming, for you’ve also spoken of my family far into the future, given me a glimpse into tomorrow and looked on me, Master God, as a Somebody. What’s left for David to say to this—to your honoring your servant, even though you know me, just as I am? O God, out of the goodness of your heart, you’ve taken your servant to do this great thing and put your great work on display. There’s none like you, God, no God but you, nothing to compare with what we’ve heard with our own ears.

In this story God had spoken through Nathan the prophet regarding what He, God, was going to accomplish through King David. He told the King that God would send a Savior through King David’s lineage. That through Him would come , The Messiah Jesus.  King David expressed his gratitude though a prayer back to God.

What I love reading is where King David said to God, You chose me even though, you know me just as I am. In other words he was saying to God even though I have weaknesses, mess up, do stupid stuff when I know better, lose my temper and have so many other issues, You still chose me!

God calls us to Him, not as perfect people, but as we are. God knows us better than we know ourselves. He sees our struggles before we struggle but still chooses us. What an awesome God! God wants us to be a mirror reflection of His Love and Mercy.

As we read God’s word and become a doer of the word, we will become who we were destined to be, like Him. God made us unique, peculiar, one of a kind and has a special plan for each one of us. My plan God states is not your plan and yours is not your neighbors.

We each have to seek God’s plan for our own lives. His plan for our lives is found through His word and prayer. His plan for our lives will always be in sync with His word. In other words as we read His word, seek Him daily, be obedient to His word and commands on a daily basis, we in fact will daily be in His will. God’s plan for our lives is that of Hope and a great Future!
