Marked

Marked

Some of us like to be noticed and other of us just want to blend. Everybody has a different personality and everyone is unique. However there is a time when we all need to stand out and be noticed for something.

Mark 1:9 (MSG)

At this time, Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. The moment he came out of the water, he saw the sky split open and God’s Spirit, looking like a dove, come down on him. Along with the Spirit, a voice: “You are my Son, chosen and marked by my love, pride of my life.” God’s Kingdom Is Here

When we accept Jesus as our Savior, God says the very same thing to us as in the above verses! We are His sons and daughters, chosen and marked by His Love and we are the pride of His life. God no longer sees our failures and mistakes. He sees what Jesus did on the cross for our redemption and accepts us as His very own sons and daughters.

We are His sons and daughters, chosen by Him and marked by His Love! We are indeed the pride of His life. We may not feel that way at times but that does not change the truth of God’s own words. We can’t trust our feelings, they are way too fickle. We have to place our confidence in His word.

When God looks at us He sees us as His kids. He sees us as His creation made in His image. He loved us so much that He was willing to leave heaven, live as a man, Jesus, and die for us while we were still sinners. Once we have accepted God’s free gift of grace through Jesus, our mistakes and failures cannot chain us any longer. We are free to be an image of His Love to others.

We know how far His Love went and the sacrifices that He made for our freedom. We should be willing to sacrifice our own desires for the love of His creation, our lost brothers and sisters in this world. We need to show this world how they too can obtain freedom by showing them God’s amazing love. Let’s go out today and share the love, forgiveness and grace that Jesus freely gave us!
